You’ll find us in Bathurst, a regional city in central western NSW, on the ancient continent of Australia in the southern hemisphere of the Earth. We are the third planet from the sun in our solar system, which is located on the outer edge of the Orion arm of the spiral galaxy called the Milky Way – one of trillions of galaxies that make up our universe.

Like the rest of the human species, we are on a steep learning curve, as we struggle to comprehend the amazing story of the universe of which we are a part, and at the same time, come to terms with the life-threatening destruction and pollution our human species is bringing about on the Earth.

“Humanity is part of a vast evolving universe. Earth, our home, is alive with a unique community of life. The forces of nature make existence a very demanding and uncertain adventure, but Earth has provided the conditions essential to life’s evolution. The resilience of the community of life and the well-being of humanity depend upon preserving a healthy biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure waters, and clean air. The global environment with its finite resources is a common concern of all peoples. The protection of Earth’s vitality, diversity and beauty is a sacred trust,”Preamble to the Earth Charter

Rahamim

A Hebrew word for mercy which is related to the word for womb (rehem). It is ‘womb-love’ - the love of a mother (and father) for the child of her womb - the love among siblings who have shared the same womb. It implies a physical response – compassion for another – felt in the centre of one’s body – a feeling that compels us to action.
