Garlic is well suited to growing as a small or micro commercial crop. You can achieve a profit on much less than 1000 sq metres. Garlic has a small footprint and its excellent capacity for organic and environmentally beneficial growing methods make it ideal for the small land holder or homesteader to plant for profit. We will also look at the range of selling opportunities available to the small or micro commercial grower.
The course covers: Selecting & sourcing varieties and suitable seed, soil husbandry and preparation, spacing & planting techniques, nurturing your crop, pests and diseases, harvest and drying.
Participants will also get free enrolment in Wynlen House Farm online micro commercial garlic growers course for a period two months. This is a resource packed, fully facilitated course with access to experienced garlic growers who will work with you as you adapt the course content to your landscape and micro climate. Participants get a small amount of seed garlic to take home.
