Senior Aboriginal Community Elder Honoured at Rahamim

Rahamim was recently the site of a ceremonial tree planting to honour a Senior Wiradyuri Elder, who passed away 1 year ago.

As part of a traditional Aboriginal immersion camp for upcoming young Yuin men from South Coast NSW, a very special Coolabah tree was planted during an extensive ritual led by their Elders.

We are honoured to have been part of this ceremony and to be the current caretakers of this Coolabah tree. It is a reminder for future generations of the life of the Elder who passed away, and the important presence of Wiradyuri people who continue to teach us all at Rahamim.
